“I fell in love with the way it felt to care for other people”
Taylorsville House’s Memory Care Manager, Melissa Myers, has been part of the family for a little over three years.
She started her career at Taylorsville House as a part-time 3rd shift PCA where she quickly fell in love with her job and moved to full time. Kristen moved from 3rd shift soon after and joined 1st shift as Lead SIC before she transitioned into her current role as Memory Care Manager.
Although Melissa has only been with the Taylorsville House for a few years, her work in healthcare goes back several years when she began working as a 19-year-old in healthcare.
“I fell in love with the way it felt to care for other people,” Melissa said.
In her current role, Melissa enjoys the differences and challenges that come with each new day. She takes pride in her work and enjoys both the residents and staff she gets to work alongside. Although it may be hard some days to get to know the Memory Care residents and their past lives, Melissa makes it a priority to reach the families of the residents to learn all she can about each person she is caring for.
Melissa is both a mom to three kids as well as a dog at home. She enjoys her time with her family, and we are so grateful that Melissa is part of our family here at the Taylorsville House.
